How to obtain a scholarship?
FOR NATIONAL AND FOREIGN GRADUATE STUDENTS IN MEXICO?
One of the options to obtain a postgraduate scholarship in Mexico is through the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT), which grants scholarships to study in programs registered in the National Program of Quality Postgraduate Programs (PNPC) that are taught in a "face-to-face" manner with full-time students.
To know the graduate programs registered in the PNPC, which are associated with the GCFC, click on the logo of the requested institution shown below:
El Colegio de la Frontera Sur (South Border College) - Campeche Unit
Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del I.P.N.(Research Center and Advanced Studies of I.P.N) - Mérida Unit
Autonomous University of Yucatan
Center for Scientific Research of Yucatan A.C.
If you choose one of the programs registered in the PNPC, you must contact the institution that offers it, where you will be informed of the dates and requirements to apply for admission to that graduate program. Once you are enrolled in the program, the Graduate Coordinator will be in charge of processing the scholarship and sending the application of each applicant through the CONACYT system according to the provisions of the call for applications.
There are two periods per year for the receipt of applications:
Basic requirements:
Validity:
When the grantee begins his/her studies with his/her own resources or any other external support and subsequently obtains a CONACYT scholarship, the duration of the scholarship will be only for the time remaining to complete the program of studies, without the possibility of extending its duration.
Granting:
The scholarships will be approved according to budget availability, respecting the order of priority assigned by the institutions to the candidates.
Formalization:
The formalization establishes the commitment that the grantee and CONACYT acquire during the term of the scholarship, once the applicant formalizes such commitment, he/she acquires the status of grantee.
Items covered by the scholarship:
The amount of support is:
(General minimum monthly wage in force in Mexico City)
Each grantee will receive modest complementary support from the GCFC for specific field expenses and some inputs according to the protocol under study.
